Newton Kyme, Boston Spa, Nr Wetherby

In June 2003 the group acquired this 20 acre former paper mill from the Scandinavian based paper company Stora Enso, for use as an industrial estate. 

The property was acquired unconditionally and entailed the transfer of significant liabilities which had been accrued by the previous owners.  

Discussions were held with the local Member of Parliament and local community groups, including the parish council, who were concerned about the future use of the site and the potential conflict that industrial activities might bring with adjoining residential properties.

The site is a "major developed site" in the Greenbelt and is a particularly complex project. We are currently consulting with local stakeholders and the local planning authority for a residential led mixed use development. A planning application will be submitted in the Autumn of 2008.
